Streaming device company Roku announced today, that it has acquired the global broadcast rights to over 75 titles originally produced for mobile streaming startup Quibi.
The shows will be available for free beginning sometime in 2021 on an ad-supported basis to all Roku users on The Roku Channel, with 12 unaired titles making their debut on the platform.
Quibi, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and led by CEO Meg Whitman, launched in April of 2020. It was unable to gain traction and announced only a short while later that same year in October, that it would be shutting down.
