Margaret Atwood announced on Twitter, that she is writing a sequel to her dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale. Titled, The Testaments, it is set 15 years after the original, and is slated to be released September 2019.

The sequel is not connected to Hulu’s current adaptation, (of which the original book was the basis of the first season). A third season is currently in production and is expected some time in 2019.
